Micro-Fundraising …Maximum Impact

Jamie is the ultimate shopper. For others, shopping is a casual outing…perhaps even a sport…for Jamie, it is a professional endeavor. Jamie doesn’t suffer fools well and she doesn’t pay retail. She is also deeply committed to charities.

A few weeks ago, Jamie found a bargain – a cute little plush puppy on sale for 50 cents. Most people (including me) would have bought their daughter a puppy and moved on to other priorities…not Jamie and not her friends. Jamie bought the store out. She called other stores in the region and bought them out too. She called friends who bought more and sent checks to buy even more…more than the available inventory of puppies. The response from friends was overwhelming.

Jamie and Hanna (5 next week) delivered the plethora of puppies (and checks) to Children’s Hospital today. I’m so happy to have a healthy child and so happy to have Jamie and Hanna who think beyond themselves. Small dollars…no small amount of effort…and big results
